Sign-ups for next season begin October 2010!
UPWARD is for ages Kindergarten - 6th grade. EVERY CHILD PLAY. EVERY CHILD LEARNS. UPWARD promotes character and self-esteem in every child by:
- Providing an evaluation system that promotes equal teams and opportunities
- Establishing a one-hour practice and game each week
- Implementing a substitution system for each team, allowing every child equal playing time
- Creating the opportunity for every child to learn the skills of the game
Upward is more than a game. Your child will have fun learning or improving their sport specific skills through Upward. Participating in this league will give your child a chance to experience good sportsmanship on and off the court. While playing or cheering for Upward Basketball, your child will also receive a special recognition award after every game and have the opportunity to develop new friendships.

UPWARD 2009/2010 SCHEDULE:
October 11: Early registration for FBC members and 08/09 participants
October 18: Open registration to community
November 10: Player Evaluations for Last Name A-M, 5-8 pm, Gym
November 12: Player Evaluations for Last Name N-Z, 5-8 pm, Gym
December 7: Pre-Christmas Practice
January 9: Games begin!
February 28: Awards Celebration!!, 2:30 pm, FBC Sanctuary
Basketball: Along with this unique sports experience, your child will receive the following:
- Upward reversible jersey
- Upward Basketball T-shirt
- Upward car magnet
- End-of-season award
Cheerleading: While your child cheers for Upward Basketball, they will be able to sign-up individually, not as a squad. They will also learn techniques to improve their cheerleading skills. Along with this unique sports experience, your child will receive the following:
- Upward Cheerleading uniform
- Upward Cheerleading megaphone
- Upward pom-poms
- Upward car magnet
- End-of-season award
Volunteering: We
need you to help make the UPWARD program a success at FBC! There are
many ways to volunteer your time, talents or both. Ministry needs are: Prayer partners, Referees, Concessions, Coaches, Testimony/Devotion Leaders. What part will you play?
