In addition to doing ongoing ministries locally, First Baptist members in recent months have helped to minister to Montagnard refugees, built buildings for churches and houses for families, served meals to the homeless, provided medical and dental care for impoverished indigenous people of Chile, helped build housing for street kids in the Ukraine, and led Vacation Bible Schools for children in neighborhoods from Greensboro to South Carolina to Mexico.
Locally FBC members have participated in:
- VBS at Rosewood Park
- Serving meals at Potter's House
- Food Drives for Greensboro Urban Ministry and other ministries
- Sponsoring Montagnard Refugees
- MissonsFest beautification of Peck School
- Cooperation with other churches in Agents of Grace's Mission Greensboro
- Building affordable housing through Habitat for Humanity
And numerous other projects in which individuals and classes participate.
The 2006 church building project was at Double Pond Baptist
Church in South Carolina, where our team helped to frame
up a new building.
Recent international participation by FBC members includes:
- An evangelism trip to Tacna, Peru
- Church construction in Temuco, Chile
- A visit in support of the ministry of the Vaughan family in Hungary
- Construction on the Village of Hope, a ministry to street kids in the Ukraine
- High School youth trip to lead Vacation Bible Schools in Toluca, Mexico
- Evangelism and children's ministry in Honduras
