Ash Wednesday Service

Each winter, our families gather for a brief but important service in the sanctuary. We take time to acknowledge our sin and our need for God's forgiveness. After imposition of ashes, children are dismissed to Kids Access while adults are invited to attend one of the Bible study classes.

Upward Celebration

Sunday afternoon on the 8th weekend of the year

Everyone from the community

Children's Weekend

God gave us many talents. Each children's weekend gives us the opportunity to explore new talents and skills while making new friends. The themed weekend is made especially for children to bring friends who do not go to church. Since the workshops are skills based, visiting children have a chance to try new things while learning what it is like to be at church. Invite a friend to be part of the fun at the next Children's Weekend.

Early spring - approximately every 3 years By nature of the required skills and maturity, children in grades 2-5 are best suited for this event.

Spring Celebration

Stories, crafts, and games help us to celebrate the new life we see in the spring season. It also reminds us of the new life we find in Christ Jesus through his resurrection. Invite friends and neighbors to be part of this FBC spring tradition.

Spring each year Walking children through 5th grade will enjoy this fun adventure. Friends and neighbors welcome.

Hurdle Celebration

From September through May, grade school children work hard on mastering some basic Bible and Christian faith concepts. As they do, they jump "hurdles" and gain some important Bible skills. In May, we celebrate their accomplishments in two ways. First, all children are invited to a special breakfast and recognized for their accomplishements. Children who attempt more than 6 of the annual hurdles are also treated to a skating / pizza party in the gym in honor of their extra work and effort toward the hurdles.

Whether children learn one hurdle or 10 each year, we can hold true to the promise in Isaiah 55, "God's word will not return void."

Late May or Early June Children in Grades 1 - 5

Family Day Trips

Lazy summer days are a great time for a day trip. Families enjoy trips to various locations and enjoy time together while fellowshipping with friends in the FBC family. This is a great opportunity to invite friends to join in the fun.

One day trips occur throughout the summer. Dates and times are determined based on the event location and availability Families (parents / grandparents and children of all ages).

BIBLE Camp

Becoming Inspired Bible Learners Everyday is the goal of our BIBLE camp each summer. Children are given an opporutnitiy to learn Bible stories in small group settings, engage in hands on missions projects, experience fellowship and fun with friends, and learn a new artistic skill. This thematic camp experience is a highlight of the summer vacation for our children each year.

Mid- July (after July 4th week and after "City meet.) Meets Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Children age 3 through 5th Grade.

Choir Camp

Themed summer camp gives an opportunity for children to explore music. Guest conductors, instumentalists, interpretive dancers and devotion leaders make this a memorable week.

Traditionally late July or early August. Camp runs, Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 1:00pm children in grades 3-8

Sunday School Promotion Sunday

In August, children are invited to have a preview and meet the teacher time before transitioning into their new Sunday School class. Teachers are ready to meet their new students and have interactive games and crafts to help everyone get to know each other so the move to the new classroom will go smoothly.  This is also a time for parents to interact with and get to know who will be leading and teaching their child(ren) in Sunday School in the coming year.

Late August each year  All children and youth.

Fall Family Fun Fest:

At the end of October, children and their families have a great time at our Fall Fun Fest playing games, bouncing and sliding on inflatables, painting pumpkins, throwing balls at the dunking booth, and enjoying hot dogs & cotton candy.  This is open to anyone in our community to attend and we hope you will.

Last Saturday afternoon
each October.

Upward Prayer Breakfast

Even before the teams are chosen or the first practice is held, we gather together for breakfast and prayer. 100 days of prayer is our commitment as we pray for the children, their famililes and the work God will do in our lives. Meet us in the Fellowship Hall for a pancake breakfast and help us invite Christ to be part of our Upward season together.

3rd Sunday morning of November All church members, community members and coaches interested in praying for the Upward ministry.

Advent Workshop & Hanging of the Green

Ask any child about the signs and symbols of the Holiday season and they are apt to tell you about Santa and presents. But the Advent season has so much more to offer as we learn about the colors, symbols, and stories as they lead us to the celebration of the birth of our savior. Come as a family to explore elements of the advent season and prepare your hearts and home for the coming Christ child.

Hanging of the Green service is where we prepare our church as we decorate, hang greenery, sing songs, decorate the Chrismon trees, read scripture and explanations of our Christmas symbols. Join in for this family friendly, casual service as we make our hearts and church home ready for the Christmas season.

2nd Sunday in Advent

Families (parents / grandparents & children 3 and older). Families engage in the activities together - adults should remain with their children.

 Christmas Eve Worship:

To fully engage our younger children on Christmas Eve, children are invited to a special story time midway through the evening service.  Children ages 4- 2nd grade may leave through the East door and will return for the annual candle lighting at the conclusion of the service.

December 24th at 5:00pm Ages four through second grade are invited for a special worship time during the service.  Childcare is available for ages birth through three years.
