F.R.O.N.T. is the Formation and Resourcing Of New Teachers

We are developing a process aimed at developing new teachers in our Adult Learning ministry.    Our goal is to allow prospective teachers an opportunity to enter a three stage formation process.

  • Stage 1: This stage centers on a time of self-examination and discernment.  It is expressly exploratory and not preparatory in function.  It is vastly important to give potential leaders an opportunity to explore and develop their giftedness, to gain a better understanding of their sense of call, and to envision possible places of service - these venues may or may not be in a Sunday School classroom.  Those wishing to continue will move to Stage 2.
  • Stage 2: This stage is a season of instruction in the craft of Bible teaching.  Teacher training  will include classes on education theory and method.  In addition, classes on the Bible will be conducted which will include studies on biblical content and methods of biblical study.  They will also be introduced to the Bible study resource material now now available through the newly refurbished resource center.  All current Sunday School teachers will have equal access to these training opportunities and are encouraged to be a part of this ongoing skill building process.
  • Stage 3: This stage brings these new teachers into the classroom.  The initial assignment will be essentially a learning lab.  The new teachers will have ample opportunity to discuss their teaching experience with seasoned veterans of the classroom.

We hope this process will bring fresh new energy to our Bible study programs.  By providing teachers who are truly called, fully prepared, and covenantally supported we will surely have the highest quality and healthiest of education programs.  Let's work together to see this through!
